From 30 January 2021, Germany prohibits airlines, among other transport carriers, to carry passengers from risk areas with virus mutations. These areas are designated by the Robert Koch Institute as "virus variant areas" (risk level 3).
The travel ban does not apply to:
1. persons with residence and right of abode in the Federal Republic of Germany.
2. persons who only change planes in Germany in a transit area of a commercial airport and continue to travel to a Non-Schengen area.

We ask all passengers who have planned a Eurowings flight within the strike period to regularly check the current status of their flight before travelling to the airport at www.eurowings.com or via the Eurowings Customer App.
Air passengers who have provided their contact details will be informed of any changes by SMS or email. Passengers who have booked a flight through eurowings.com can retroactively enter their personal contact details in the „My Eurowings" section.
If your Eurowings flight is cancelled, you can change your booking online to an alternative Eurowings flight either before or after the planned departure time free of charge or alternatively cancel it.
Cancelled flights can also be rebooked or cancelled using an Internet-enabled mobile phone via the mobile portal, the Eurowings iPhone oder Android app.
If your booking was made on an etix® ticket number (e.g.: 220-1111111111) or if you have booked a Eurowings flight on the lufthansa.com website or with one of our partner airlines, please contact the Lufthansa reservations office or the corresponding airline to change the flight date.
If you booked your flight through an operator or travel agent, please contact the tour operator or travel agent directly.
The health of our passengers and staff is of utmost importance to us. Many measures have already been taken to protect our guests and employees during the current corona crisis.
From 1 February 2021, only surgical masks or FFP masks will be allowed on board all Eurowings flights. Everyday masks made of fabric may no longer be worn on board from this date onward. This applies to all flights to and from Germany and is based on the current Corona requirements of the German government for public transport. Certain German airports are starting to apply this rule as of 27 January, e.g. Cologne-Bonn, Hamburg and Stuttgart.
For flights to and from Austria: From 25 January 2021, the wearing of FFP2 masks is mandatory.
Since September 2020, you can only be exempt from wearing a mask onboard for medical reasons if you present a medical certificate.
You can find the form for the medical certificate to download here.
In addition, passengers who are unable to wear a mask during the flight must present a negative Covid-19 test. The test result may not be older than 48 hours at the scheduled start of the journey.
Together we ensure that safe travel remains possible even in times of Corona.
Please find more information on the mask obligation in our General Conditions of Carriage, Article 11.5 as well as on our FAQ page about mask regulations.
The United Kingdom is taking steps to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
To protect your health and others’, everyone must complete an online passenger locator form before arrival in the United Kingdom.
You may be required to self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. Check the exempt countries list immediately before you travel as this list can change at short notice.
It is a legal requirement that you wear a face covering on public transport in the UK.
Failure to comply with the above measures is a criminal offence and you could be fined. Please visit the website of the UK border control for detailed public health advice and requirements for entering the UK.
